Form Bocca Trabaria to Acquapartita
Some of the naturalistic routes promoted by the Mountain Community of the Upper Tiber in Umbria offer signposted nature trails all over its territory to explore on foot, by bike or on horseback. Two of the best routes are the “Sentiero Italia” (Italy Trail) and its link trails. This network of trails extends all over the Alps and the Apennines, crossing the watershed of the Upper Tiber Valley. This itinerary starts at the pass of Bocca Trabaria, in front of the memorial dedicated to the passage of Garibaldi, with a track winding through the Apennine crest between the regions of Umbria and Marche, touching the pass of Bocca Serriola, and ending in the village of Acquepartita in the Marche, where you can find hotels and restaurants. The white and red signposts of the trails are periodically monitored by the CAI members, while for tourist information and overnight stay you can visit the CEN Excursion Chalet of Bocca Serriola. In order to link some historic villages and towns of the Upper Tiber Vallery, specific trails have been created and divided into three systems indicated by numbers 1 (Monte Santa Maria Tiberina-Citerna), 3 (Pietralunga-Montone) and 5 (Monte Corona-Monte Acuto-Valle del Niccone), linked by connecting trails. These routes are suitable also for amateur hikers as they cover areas combining high environmental quality and historic and cultural highlights.
